Summary

The programme is suitable for the development of existing healthcare support workers (HCSWs) who have demonstrated the capabilities and commitment to develop towards a nursing role and can also be used to support the recruitment of new apprentices to your organisation.

Because apprentices study flexibly alongside work, they will put their newly acquired knowledge and skills into practice immediately, for the positive benefit of patients and service users.

Qualifications achieved at the end of the programme:
  • Foundation Degree in Nursing Associate Practice
  • Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship, awarded by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE)
  • English and maths functional skills qualifications at Level 2, if not previously achieved

*Entry requirements include having evidence of achieving Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths - or completing these alongside the programme. See Full programme below for more information.

Please ensure that you download and read the full Module and Qualification Descriptor and Regulations prior to signing your registration agreement. Both documents must be read in conjunction with the Academic Regulations (Apprentices) which are available online via The Open University Student Policies and Regulations website.
